Wheat Ridge Mudjacking & Sunken Concrete Repair

Wheat Ridge is one of the older, more established suburbs in the Denver metro, and a lot of its housing stock dates back to the postwar decades when Jefferson County was still filling in with new subdivisions. That vintage matters for concrete: driveways, walkways, and patios poured 40 to 60 years ago were built to the standards and soil knowledge of their time, which did not always account for how much Jefferson County's bentonite clay would swell and shrink over the following decades. Every estimate starts with a look at the slab itself. If it is cracked into several pieces, badly spalled, or has heaved upward rather than settled, mudjacking is not the right tool, and we will say so and point toward crack repair or partial replacement instead. For a slab that is intact and simply settled, we drill small ports, about one to two inches across, pump a cement-based slurry underneath under pressure, and let hydraulic pressure raise the slab back to grade. Once it is level, the ports get patched flush with the surrounding surface. Most Wheat Ridge residential jobs, a driveway apron, a walkway section, a porch slab, take a single visit of a few hours, and the concrete is usable the same day or the next. A lift restores the slab to grade, but if the joints around it or hairline cracks nearby are open, water can still get underneath and start the same erosion process over again.
